Wow- we've become people who take way too many pictures of their kids. But he's just so cute-it's hard to resist. If this keeps up for the next 18 years, we are going to have a serious photo management problem!
fall/winter 2007

mt. whitney
From Sept. 25-27, 2007, we drove from Becka's parents house in Southern California to the Lone Pine/Bishop area in the Sierras. I climbed Mt. Whitney, we caught up with friends, and then stopped by the ancient bristlecone pine forest on the way back to the LA area. To echo John Muir, going to the Sierras always feels like going home.
montana trip
These are pictures taken during August 2007. Becka did her TESOL in Montana, and when I returned from Africa, I drove out there to pick her up. We stayed there for a week and checked out Glacier National Park and a few other sites. Then we drove back to IL, passing through Yellowstone National Park. These are a few pics from that trip.

These pics were taken during a short visit with my brother Jon in August 2007. He was working at Mkhuze game reserve in South Africa.
ngorongoro crater
These are pics we took during a safari (day-trip) to the crater. I definitely felt the limitations of our camera with these, but there are a few good ones. Since i wasn't using a high-zoom lens, the pics should give you a good idea of how close we actually were to the animals.

These are some pics from our "wilderness" discipleship training school in fall 2003/winter 2004. This was my first experience with ywam, and where becka and I first met. We spent our lecture phase backpacking through the sierras, death valley, arizona, and utah. Our outreach was in Kyrgyzstan. Originally on 35mm.
papua new guinea
These were taken during a short-term trip in 2002. This was my first experience working cross-culturally, and probably still one of my favorites. PNG has to be one of the most amazing places on earth. This was before I had a digital camera, so these pics were taken on a 35mm and scanned.
